Hollie Hendricks

Mrs. Hollie Vaughn Hendricks 92, affectionally known also known as “Holly-Vaughn “was born in Augusta, Georgia on March 18, 1932, to the late Johnny Davis and Mattie May Davis. Hollie departed this life on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at 4:45am Yale-Saint Raphaels Campus Hospital. Hollie migrated to CT from Augusta Georgia in December of 1959 and has resided here ever since. She joined the Mount Zion Seventh-day Adventist Church in September,1975 where she has been a member for 49 years. She loved going to church every Saturday, reading her bible religiously, upholding the sabbath day, and serving her lord daily with prayer and worship. Hollie attended Southern Connecticut State University to become a Licensed Practical Nurse and obtained her bachelor’s degree. She was a very hardworking and exceptional employee at Pratt and Whitney for over 20 years before retiring. Hollie enjoyed gardening, speaking German fluently while teaching her children how to speak it fluently as well, giving bible studies, playing the piano, sewing, cooking, teaching music to her grandchildren as well as other activities. Hollie was the oldest of her six siblings predeceased in death by three siblings’ brothers Clinton Davis, Robert G. Davis and sister Barbara Davis of New Haven, CT. She leaves behind to cherish her memories of her remaining siblings Vernon Green, (Ginette), and Shelia Nabors (Edward), her three Children: Carl Edward Hendricks, Gwendolyn Regina Hendricks and Angela Devaughn Hendricks of New Haven, CT. She also leaves to mourn her grandchildren Brittany S. Dasher and Chynna S. Dasher of New Haven, CT. Great Grandchildren Shealah Price Mckee, Imyre Dasher, Mekhi Dasher, Unique Dasher, Asari Dasher, John Jase Galberth, Je-anna Galberth and Roman Dasher of New Haven CT. Honorary grandchildren Stephanie Heyward, Felica Grant, Shari Williams and Ireyna Cogswell of New Haven. She also leaves behind Nieces Vernell Morgan, Ladonna Davis Brown, Lamarra Davis, Brenda Davis, Tracy Martin, Pernecia Guess, Lanaisha Threat, Anita Green, Talia Triesch, Kandyce Nabors, Ariel Nabors, Aleah Nabors, Nephews Robert Davis Jr, Tyrone Brown Jr, Natrell Guess, Ted Green, Malik Nabors. Great niece Nyana Cruz, Great Nephews Anthony Cruz III, Gabriel Cruz, Che Cruz and a host of nieces and nephews. Our dear Hollie Hendricks will greatly be missed but her legacy rings on.
