Harry J. Snipe

Mr. Harry Snipe of West Haven, Connecticut departed this life on Saturday, September 17, 2022, at his home. He was born on November 10, 1941, in Bonneau, South Carolina to the late Sam Snipe and Annie Snipe. At an early age, accepted Christ and joined Jehovah Missionary Baptist Church in Bonneau South Carolina. After relocating to Connecticut for work, he joined St Matthew’s UFW Baptist Church. Then God called him to the House of Jacobs Church where he was a faithful member for 10 years. He served on the Board of Directors and was a faithful man of service. Harry graduated from Russellville High School in South Carolina. He relocated to New Haven, Connecticut where he accepted a position with Connecticut Rubber. He met and married his lovely wife, Barbara Snipe. They build a wonderful life together for over 40 years. Later, he worked as a loyal employee of Sears and Roebuck for over 30 years. He transitioned to work at SNET and ended his career at Yale University. Mr. Snipe was also a business owner of Harry Snipe Janitorial Services. He was much loved and respected by both coworkers and clients. Mr. Snipe acted as a friend and mentor to many colleagues across several companies. Many employees seeking to follow in his footsteps. Mr. Snipe will be remembered for his great sense of humor. Whether during one-on-one conversations or group gatherings. He was a man of service. Whether it was to the church or community, he was always willing to lend a hand. He took pride in being a point of contact for many topics. He was one to check on his friends and family to ensure their will being. He will be remembered as being that person to call if someone needed help. He was a good friend and one who was willing to help someone in need. He maintained long-term friendships and loved to talk on the phone and catch up on life with friends. He also traveled near and far to visits his friends who were ill or homebound. His character and service have impacted many in positive ways that will never be forgotten. Mr. Harry Snipe is preceded in death by his loving wife, Barbara Snipe and his sibling’s Samuel Snipe, Louise Miller, Lilliam Jefferson, and Robert Snipe (Juanita). Mr. Snipe leaves to cherish his memory, his children: Frankie Bacchus, Harry Williams (Nicole), Celestine Hall, and Harriet Snipe; sister Mae Lee White and brother Willie Snipe (Daisy). In addition, Mr. Snipe leaves his beloved grandchildren: Stefanee Berman (Seth), Chantel Williams, Har’ree Williams, Anna Alea Hall. Mr. Snipe also leaves the newest and most cherished members of the family the great- grandchildren: Skyler Berman, Seth Berman Jr., Reese Luke. Lastly, he leaves a host of nieces and nephews and other friends and family who will loving remember
