Duane White

Duane (Deez) Dupree White passed away suddenly on Monday, September 2, 2024. He was born on March 11, 1975, at Yale New Haven Hospital to Quinton White and the late Darlene (White) Miller. Duane attended New Haven Public Schools including Hillhouse High School. In addition, he was a graduate of Lincoln Technical Institute. He embraced and converted to Islam, became a Muslim, adored its principles and was a member of Masjid al-Islam in New Haven. Duane was the proud owner of Elm Pro Heating and Cooling. He was dedicated to serving the New Haven community and giving back, as well as serving the surrounding towns. His exemplary work performance made his customers happy and very satisfied. Subsequently, he would follow up with “Thank you” notes or cards to several customers. Duane loved his family, especially his children. He was very intelligent and had a great love for reading books including ancestral history, books that included ancient civilization of different ethnicities whereby warriors emerged and conquered empires. Duane’s favorite pastime was his love of music, riding bikes, and debating on various topics with friends and acquaintances, especially the ones from his old childhood “stomping grounds” (aka “The G”). To know him was to love him… Duane had an awesome personality, a huge infectious smile and always looked at a situation from different angles… ultimately choosing to go with the most solid course of action. Duane leaves to cherish his memories: his father, Quinton White of Hamden, CT; four daughters from eldest to youngest from CT: Jamesha Green of Hamden, Paris Pearson of New Haven, Corshay Jenkins of Meriden and Emilia Darlene White of New Haven; two brothers, Quinton White of New Haven, CT and Sean Beasley of Baltimore, MD; two sisters, Marion Miller of Meriden, CT and Tishema Hobby-Carter (William Carter) of Hamden, CT; two maternal aunts: Jackie Harris and Bridget Harris-Miller of New Haven; six nieces, eight nephews and three grandchildren: Rhilee Coleman, Tatum Cooper and Ma’Khi Anderson and two great-aunts: Margie (Carr) Dixon of New Haven and Eradell (Carr) Hardy of North Carolina. Duane is also predeceased by his mother, Darlene (White) Miller; his brother, Darryl Lee Miller, two maternal uncles, Tyrone and Chucky Harris, his maternal grandmother, Emily Carr-Harris, his paternal grandmother Emma Waller, three great-aunts, four great-uncles and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
