Dessie Simmons

Dessie Simmons was born in Bowman, South Carolina to her late parents Gladys Pollar-Simmons and James Simmons January 19,1940. Dessie transitioned from this life on Sunday morning January 8th, 2023 at home preparing for church. Dessie is the oldest of 5 siblings. She received her GED in Chicago attending night school. She received a diploma from the Fresh Oil Bible Institute in Basic Bible Studies. She was a licensed and ordained Pinpoint Prophet and Evangelist of God, also ordained in 2022 as an Overseer of Fresh Oil Deliverance Church. She attended Bethel Apostolic Church in Chicago where she served for many years as Head of the Nursing department and Lead Pastoral Care Nurse for the Late Bishop John F. Morris. She then moved to Minneapolis, MN where she served as Mother for Deliverance Temple under Bishop James and Lady Woods. God later led her to move to Connecticut, where she then served in whatever capacity needed within Holy Nation Church under Bishop Mary Walton. She received a blessing as she left to support her oldest son Apostle John Mabry and the Fresh Oil Deliverance Church family. Whenever she was in Georgia, it was a known fact that she was connected to Total Restoration Worship Center with her Youngest son Bishop Jeff Mabry. She leaves to cherish her legacy and memories, her Oldest Daughter Linda Smith of Springfield, MA, Oldest Son Apostle John Mabry (Lady Marie Evelyn Belfort-Mabry) of New Haven, CT, her Youngest son Bishop Jeff E. Mabry (Lady Alfreda R. Mabry) of Decatur, GA, her only remaining sibling, her sister Jeanette McCallaster (Dennis McCallaster) of Saint Louis, MO, her Sister in Love Joyce Simmons of Chicago, IL, one of her favorite cousins Pastor Shirley Robinson of Clearwater, FL, 8 grandchildren: Rickey, Jonathan, Timothy, Abryana, Demetry, Johnnay, Jayia, and Brandon, 16 great-grandchildren and a host of other cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Preceding her in death her Husband Deacon Godfrey Paige, her Mother Gladys Pollar-Simmons, her Father James Simmons Sr, her Sister Joanne Simmons, her brothers James and Sonny Simmons, and her youngest daughter Willie Anna Conner. She was a servant of the Lord Jesus Christ. She loved living for God and sharing the love of God and a smile with anyone she would come in contact with. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord...one of her favorite quotes was I don't like a dead and dry service-- I come to church to have church so let's have church while we are here"
