Denise Bryant

Denise Renee Bryant (Neecie) was born to the late Gladys Mildred Murray-Bryant and the late William C. Bryant in New Haven, Connecticut on August 13, 1960. She was called into eternal rest on January 19, 2024 after a brief illness. Neecie was a lifelong resident of New Haven where she completed high school at Wilbur Cross. She held many jobs throughout her life such as a domestic engineer, a roofing technician and her last position was with the prestigious Omni Hotel in hospitality management. This particular job suited her well as she was always ready and willing to greet everyone with her bright and beautiful smile. Neecie was a peaceful and loving person. She touched the lives of many with her presence and giving spirit. If you needed a place to stay, she would take you in. She had a way of making people feel welcomed. Neecie was known for her “rolling thunder” of laughter. When she laughed, you had no choice but to laugh along with her; it was that contagious! In addition to her kind heart and loving spirit she was an amazing cook. She enjoyed it! She would always cook an awesome Sunday dinner for her family where everyone was always welcomed. Spending time with her family was something that she enjoyed doing where she would express her love for everyone. Family gatherings gave Neecie immense pleasure and enjoyment. She loved her children with her whole heart. But most of all her grandchildren were her heart, The love they shared was undoubtedly phenomenal. Her grandchildren loved her and he knew it! While attending church with her grandmother, Mae Robinson, Denise was introduced to the Lord as a young girl, She was baptized and accepted Jesus as her Savior. She grew up singing in the “Junior choir” At Mt. Zion Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Bishop George Grannison. She was always quick to praise the Lord. Neecie leaves to cherish and celebrate her memory, 3 children: Dwayne (Bear) Bryant, Ashleigh (Ash) Bryant and Sonia Hardy of New Haven, CT.; 10 grandchildren: Dynasia Bryant of Cordova, TN, Destiny Bryant, of Decatur, GA, Jada Bryant of Modonough, GA, DaOnna Bryant of New Haven, CT., Exquisite Bennett, Exaire Bennett, Serenity Bennett, Honesty Bennett, Summer Bennett and Ava Hardy of New Haven, CT.; 1 great grandson: Landyn D. Samuels of Cordova, TN.; 3 sisters: Vanessa Bryant-Spell (Melvin), Allison Bryant, Lavonda Bryant, 1 brother: Keith Bryant, all of New Haven, CT.; 5 nephews, 5 nieces, 6 great nephews, 5 great nieces, 2 great great nephews, 2 first cousins: Theresa Faison and Diane Barker. She also leaves her life long partner, Adolph (Eddie) Hardy along with a multitude of cousins, relatives and friends to grieve, cherish and celebrate her remarkable life. Neecie was predeceased by both parents, her grandmother, her sisters:, Bertha Bowser and Cynthia Murray Howie. She was a mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and a friend. May God grant her peaceful sleep, comfort her family and friends and may she remain in our hearts and memories forever. We love you
