Deborah Jackson

Deborah Jackson was born to the late James E. Council Sr. and Carol Council on January 28, 1960, in New Haven CT. She passed peacefully at St. Raphael hospital on September 11, 2024, surrounded by her family and her best friend, Edythe. She was the oldest of 5 children. Deborah grew up in New Haven Ct. She attended the New Haven Public school system in which she graduated with her high school diploma from Wilbur Cross in 1977. Deborah also furthered her education at Stone Academy. Deborah met the love of her life, Kenneth Jackson, in 1976, and in 1996 they were married. From their relationship they were blessed with three daughters, Shante, Kenisha, and Courtney. Deborah loved to sing and read (the Word of God in Particular). She loved cross word puzzles and painting by numbers. Deborah enjoyed making ziti for everyone to enjoy. Most of all Deborah loved to dress and wear her high heels. She loved getting her hair done, wearing red fingernails and toenails, and never leaving home without her Vaseline or Carmex. Deborah had a special love for family and one of her desires was that all of her family would be saved. She enjoyed peace and was an advocate for it. Deborah worked at Aetna, MD Health Plan, SNET, The Newport News Virginia school system and Northrop Grumman Shipyard of Virginia, from there she retired. Deborah leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Pastor Kenneth Jackson of New Haven, CT. Her three daughters First Lady, Elder Shante (Pastor Vincent who she called SON) White, of Hamden CT. Kenisha of New Haven, CT and Courtney Jackson of West Haven, CT. Her mother, Mother Carol Council of New Haven CT. Her brother James Council Jr. of Newport News VA, her sister Tonya (Wayne) Ricks of West Haven, CT. her sister Guinell Council of New Haven, CT., brother-in-law Reggie Jackson of Anderson, South Carolina, sister-in-laws Dawn Jackson of Alabama, and Monique Leal of Anderson South Carolina, Nine grandchildren Destanie, Vincent Jr., Brandon, Niyanna, Unique, Damar Jr. Dameir, Johnny III., and Royal, best friends Edythe Sessions, Linda Ivory, Gloria Ivory, Pastor Avis Frasier, Lady Sharon Bordeaux, Olivia Griffin, and Min. Jermaine Bagley, special sisters Allyson Council and Debra Russell, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends. She was predeceased by her father, Elder James Council, Sr. Her brother Anthony Troy Council Sr, and both Paternal and Maternal grandparents.
