Deborah Ann Foster Deborah made her grand entrance into this world on June 07, 1957 on the back seat of a car at the front door of New Haven Hospital. The “Good Samaritan Pastor Hamilton” was not expecting his vehicle to be the birth place of someone who would later crown herself an official “Diva”. Her parents Janice Celia Adams Foster and the late Willie Burke Foster, Sr. were just as surprised. Deborah brought much joy into the Foster home. Her early education was in the New Haven School system. The family relocated to Oberlin, Ohio where Deborah graduated from Oberlin High School in 1975. Shortly after graduation Deborah returned to New Haven with the family. Deborah always enjoyed working. Her employment career included, O. F. Mossberg & Sons as the business office administrator, Bank of America and Comcast Cable TV & Internet in the accounting department until her retirement due to health issues. Deborah used this time to pursue her heart’s desire to continue her education and acquire a degree. She was excited and proud to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Religious Studies in 2018 from Lee University in Cleveland, TN. This success inspired Deborah to continue her studies and begin working towards a Masters in Theology. She was one course from achieving this goal. Deborah was raised in a Christian home and loved the Lord. She was saved at a young age and was filled with the Holy Sirit at age 8. Wanting the full experience, she was baptized at Beaulah Heights First Pentecostal Church under the leadership of Bishop George H. Brooks. Deborah served under several ministries in the area. She worked under Reverend Henry Green at Lilly of the Valley until her family replanted at Shekinah Glory Apostolic Church where the Pastor was Reverend Melvin Moses. She continued her spiritual journey as a disciple at Faith Tabernacle Apostolic Church (NOW: Body of Christ Assembly) under the tutelage of Bishop Hugh Carmichael. Currently Deborah was a member of Promise Land Church of God under the leadership of Bishop Kenneth Trawick. Deborah loved being a servant of the Lord. She had a passion for singing and participated in several church choirs as a vocalist and choir director. Her love for the word of God prompted her to teach Sunday School and Bible Study on many different level. The children and youth are the groups that had her heart. She always enjoyed spoiling the “chiren” or “babies”, as she referred to them. Her least favorite thing was to serve on the Kitchen Committee, but she served with a joyful spirit under Mother Rosa Davis. Deborah enjoyed traveling with friends, music, especially singing and praying. She was a part of many different study groups and prayer groups, a powerful Prayer Warrior. Deborah leaves to cherish her memory mother, Janice Foster; brothers Gerald Warren Foster, Robert Louis Foster, Leonard Vincent Foster, and Jonathan Thomas Foster all of Hamden, CT; Jeffrey Allan Foster (Deborah); Nephew, Kyle Fasci Foster of Farmington, CT; 33 God Children and a host of cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her father, Willie Burke Foster, Sr.; brother, Willie Burke Foster, Jr.; and Sister Christina Elizabeth Denise Foster, maternal grandparents: Robert Adams and Evangelist Elizabeth Adams; paternal grandparents: Willie Patridge and Rosa Foster.
