David Weeks

David Sherwood Weeks was born on June 10th, 1963, in New Haven. He was predeceased in death by his beloved parents Joyce (Wadley) Weeks and Roger Weeks. His maternal and parental grandparents and his son Eric Blakeney (2012). He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Rovella and his six sons: David lI (Norwich, CT), Christian (Atlantic City, NJ), Chance, Bryan, Corey and Tyler. His step-children Dante Pervis, and Dajon (Brian) Wilkins, his grandchildren, his brother Roger, his aunt Patricia (Robert) Brown and his uncle Harold Weeks, his nieces, and his cousins (including the West Hills Pigmites), his church family and his numerous friends. He shared a special bond with his two bonus daughters, Keedy and Davquaya. He was employed at Yale New Haven Hospital as a patient transporter, and the Veterans Adminsitration Hospital in dietary services before his illness (cancer). David was affectionately known as a local legend in New Haven. A lot of people knew and loved David. He will be remembered for all of his accolades, on the football field (The Wrecking Crew), for Hillhouse High School. His tenacity for working out and teaching body-building techniques. Most of all, his love for preaching & teaching God's word, which his family was most proud of. David was a compassionate soul, he would often see the homeless and stop the car. get out and pray, encourage and give them money. He had a great love for animals and also loved to give things away. These are the things that made him happy. Everywhere he went, those that knew him would always want to reminisce. There was always a good "Dave Weeks story" included. David was ordained to be a Minister on October 15, 2006 by Apostle Gary Jenkins, of Sword of the Spirit Ministres. He was currently a member of Christian Love Center Church, Inc, under the leadership of his beloved Pastor, Overseer Wille Mae Clayton, where he was a part of the CLC Male Chorus. David was annointed, appointed and equipped by God. He was gifted with revelational knowledge of the word and the ability to translate it to others. He walked in the prophetic anointing and could auditorily hear from the Lord. Some time ago Pastor Timothy Maybanks held a service called "From the streets to the Pulpit" and had asked David to minister. That very title became the mantra and testimony of his life. WORDS CANNOT EXPRESS HOW MUCH THIS MAN OF GOD WILL BE MISSED!
