Clarence Fuller Sr.

Deacon Clarence Fuller passed away May 7, 2020. He was born on December 4, 1943 in New Rochelle, New York to the late George Lewis Fuller and Anna Marie Garland Fuller. He was the sixth of seven children. Deacon Fuller has been married to Dollie Blackmon Fuller for over 50 years. From this union 2 children were born: Clarence (Tammy) Fuller Jr. and Latisha (Calvin) Fuller-Sharpe and four grandchildren: Robert Johnathan Jackson, Cornealeus Dwayne Sharpe, Clarence Fuller III and Tapanga Ariel Sharpe. He was educated in the public school systems in New Rochelle, NY. He accepted Christ at an early age and sang on the choir in Bridgeport Connecticut. He later joined Union Disciple Freewill Baptist Church under the leadership of Bishop Lethenial McClam. He was ordained Deacon in 2005. He loved gospel music and playing both the bass and lead guitar. He also loved to bowl, talk on the CB Radio (known as Brown Bird), play his guitars and sing. Through the years he was a member of the various quartet groups (i.e. The Sensational Pilgrims of Faith, The Bells of Joy and The New Pilgrims of Faith) Deacon Fuller was employed for 24 years at the Housing Authority of the City of New Haven as a Maintenance Mechanic from 6/24/74 until he retired on 10/1/98 after a brief illness. After retirement, he moved to Florence, SC in 2007 and remain there until 11/1/16. While in South Carolina, he was an active member of St. Beulah Missionary Baptist Church in Florence, South Carolina under the leadership of Rev. Terrence Washington. He served on the St. Beulah Deacon Board. After returning to Connecticut, he returned to his home church of Union Disciple Freewill Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastors Darrell & Darnell McClam. Deacon Fuller loved to travel, as he and his family went on numerous cruises and road trips. Deacon Fuller is survived by his wife of over fifty-two years, Dollie Blackmon Fuller, son Clarence (Tammy) Fuller Jr.; daughter Latisha (Calvin) Fuller-Sharpe, 4 grandchildren: Robert Johnathan Jackson, Cornealeus Dwayne Sharpe, Tapanga Ariel Sharpe and Clarence Fuller III, brother William (Sandy) Fuller and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Deacon Fuller was predeceased by 2 brothers (Leroy & Philip (James) Howard), 3 sisters (Cora Cozelle, Georgianne & Mary Ann) and 1 granddaughter (Jamani Jonique). The Funeral service will be private due to the pandemic but the service will be live streamed through MFH Livestreaming on facebook.
