Carolyn Lewis

April 14, 1955 - October 23, 2024 Carolyn L Lewis, 69, New Haven, CT transitioned peacefully on October 23, 2024 at Her Home, in New Haven Connecticut. She was the Daughter of the late Thomas Adams and Charlotte Ann Fitzgerald Adams. Carolyn was born in Pittsylvania County Virginia where she spent his early years. After the family farmed for many years, they decided to move to New Haven Connecticut where there were better opportunities for advancement and a better educational system. Carolyn was very exceptional growing up in the South. She always new that somewhere there has to be a place that would provide for a better life for her and the family. She came North. She worked for The Financial Aid Department at SCSU after helping countless number of students. She learned to love music, Travel, The Art, Dance and great food. Carolyn enjoyed traveling with her family to upstate NY, Saratoga Springs to festivals and annual Horse Racing Events with the family and the Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City. She loved all musical genres and the art of the dance. Everyone that saw her could tell that she was a very meticulous dresser. She leaves to cherish loving memories; Her Loving Husband James Al'Doron Lewis, brothers; Ronald Adams of Rochester NY, Roscoe Adams, Hamden CT, Charles Adams of Virginia, and John Thomas of Virginia. Sisters; Patricia Knotts of Hamden, Linda Adams, Vivian Adams, of New Haven, Lilly Mae Tunstall of Bassett Virginia. Sister-in Law Molly McClure, Brother-in Law Vincent Lewis (Marie), Children; Jermaine Adams, Valarie Adams, Crystal Reddick, Tracy Lewis Reese Watson (Michael), Jill Lewis, Travis Lewis, James Andrew Lewis (Shophia), Eloise Christina Lewis, Grace Marie Lewis, James Christine Lewis (Stephanie), Jonathan Christopher Lewis (Latresha), One Aunt, Elizabeth Fallen of Albany, New York. In addition to a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by brothers, Bobby Adams of CT, Wilbert Fitzgerald, of the Bronx, NY. The Family wishes to thank everyone for their displays of love and kindness during this time. Special Thanks to Varick Memorial AME Zion Church, Knickerbocker Golf Club, Yale New Haven Hospital, Smilow Health Center, last but not least McClam Funeral Home for the Services they provided not only to our family but the Community at large.
