Carmen House-Leggette

Carmen J House-Leggette transitioned on June 23, 2017. Carmen was born to Lee House Jr. and Dorothy Mae House Ross on April 22, 1964 in New Haven, CT. She was educated in the New Haven School System, graduating from Wilbur Cross High School. She also attended and graduated from Gateway Community College with an Associate Degree in Business. She was employed at Saint Raphael Hospital for thirty-two years, and continued with the Yale Health System where she was currently employed. Carmen was given an outstanding volunteer award at Leeway, Inc. on April 14, 2016. She enjoyed traveling, shopping and was a great organizer. Carmen was a lover of family and people in general. She was a giver of love and encouragement to others. She was a wife and mother. Carmen was married to the love of her life, Deacon Antonio Leggette. When they were blessed to have Anthony Jordan Leggette, a whole new love developed. Not only did she love her family, she loved her Church family. She was a devoted member of Gods Miracles Unlimited of Hamden CT, under the leadership of Bishop Rev Dr. Howard and Pastor Rev Dr. Peggy Joyner. She served as the Church secretary, Bible class teacher, Head of women department, Praise and Worship leader, Tambourine Queen, Choir member, part of Aaron Army team, Missionary and Mentor. Carmen leaves to cherish her memory her husband Tony, and sons Anthony of New Haven, CT. Rodriguez Browne of SC and daughter Sasha Leggette of Kingstree S.C. Her beloved father, Lee House Jr. (Rose) of West Haven, Her brothers, Robert House (Christine) and Thomas House (Rosa) of New Haven Her sister/aunt Margaret Roach (Daniel) of New Haven, Ct Her extended family includes 2 brothers, Ronnie Freeman of New Haven and Marcus Moore (Jestina) of Greenville, NC. 7 sisters: Sandra Barrett-Shackleford (Darius) of Greenville, NC, Eula Barrett (Herb) of Hamden, CT., Debra Padgett of Baltimore, MD., Ruby J Blount of Greenville, NC, Yvonne Salters-Hammond of West Haven, CT, Victoria Covington of West Haven, CT and Mona Hardy of Greenville NC In-laws, Frank and IvaNell Leggette of SC, and a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, 2 sister-in-laws and many friend. She was predeceased by her devoted mother, Dorothy Mae House Ross.
