Cain Beauford

Departed this life with his wife at his bedside on Monday, September 19, 2022, in New Haven, CT. Born in Georgetown, SC on Thursday, August 10, 1933, to the late Samuel and Hannah (Small) Beauford and received his education in the Plantersville School System. Cain lived in Plantersville unto he moved to Indianapolis, IN after which he relocated to New Haven, CT. Once moving to Connecticut in October of 1972, he became employed as a Polisher Operator at Sargent Manufacturing Co. in New Haven, CT, where he was employed for twenty-six (26) years until his retirement May of 1999. While working at Sargent, Cain was invited to Union Temple FWB Church by Sis. Dorothy Gregg where after a few joyful visits he became a member then six months later after joining met the love of his life Reverend Barbara J. Greene and asked her for her hand in marriage. On Saturday, December 19, 1981, the two became one, and would have celebrate 40 years together on Dec. 19, 2022. Cain loved his family and was the patriarch of the Beauford family tree as well as the last living uncle. He loved to travel up the highway to Pittsburg along with his nephew Bernard Tucker, Sr. every chance he got to see his family. Cain was a very cool and classy dresser, whenever you seen him, he would either have on a baseball cap or one of his dress hats depending on what occasion was along with his toothpick in his mouth. He loved his toothpicks. Cain was a dedicated member of Union Temple FWB Church under the tutelage of the late Bishop Herman A. Epps and now Pastor Elmer P. Hardy, Jr., where he was an Usher, member of the Male Chorus as well as The Big 6 Male Chorus where they would travel singing with men of various other churches. Cain had a love for singing as well as cooking. He loved to get up in the morning (if he didn’t go to his favorite breakfast spot Barbara’s) and cook sausage or pink salmon with grits and eggs. Cain leaves to cherish his memories, his beloved wife of 39 years: Elder Barbara J. Greene-Beauford; one (1) son, Robert C. Greene, Sr. (Audra) of New Haven, CT; six (6) daughters; Tanya, and Paulette Beauford, Rhonda Spaulding (Charles) all of Indianapolis, IN; Barbara Greene-Robinson, of New Haven, CT, Beverly Beauford-Langley of New Haven, CT, and Elder Cherie’ I. Greene of West Haven, CT. He was predeceased by one (1) son; Larry L. Greene (Shawne), and one (1) son-in-law; Winfred Robinson. He was blessed with seventeen (17) grandchildren; Dereth Bell, Starlett Dycus, LaShawnda, LaMar, Gabriel, Denzel, and Min. TaMesha Greene, Tashia Griffin, Phillip, and Jamie Carson, Robert C. Greene, Jr., Chonda Spaulding, Brittani (Darrell) Glover, Nicole Robinson, William, Xavier, and Michel’le Langley. Sixteen (16) great-grands, and one (1) great-great grandchild. He was also a Special Guardian of Carl Torres, and Denial Benton; one (1) sister; Louise (Samuel) Morant; one (1) brother: Edward (Big Man) Dekien; four (4) sisters-in-law; Annie L. Hunter, Mary L. Young, Minnie M. Washington, and Claudia B. Foy. A host of nieces, nephews, godchildren, and friends as well as Special Guardian of Carl Trez, and Denial Benton. Cain was predeceased by four (4) grandchildren; Marquis Beauford, Charles Beauford, Preston Greene, and Darrell Glover, Jr. Seven (7) brothers, Thomas, Samuel (Willie Lou), James, Jim, and Luke (Fray) Beauford, Isaac, and Frank (Lucille) Ponteau, Sr., and three (3) sisters Rebecca (David) Gilliard, Marian (Willie) Alston, and Hannah (Doddie) Tucker. Take your rest, you will be dearly missed by all.
