Brenda L. Brockenberry

Brenda Brockenberry, our "Independent Queen" graced this world on May 5, 1962 in Milford, Connecticut. As the eldest child of Joan Daniels, her journey unfolded with purpose and love. Her unwavering spirit touched countless lives, leaving behind a legacy that resonates with family and love. In 1980, she met the love of her life, Charles Miller. Their 44 year union of love bore witness to the creation of a beautiful family. Their three children, Chucky Jr., Theresa and Alicia became the heartbeat of their lives. In her earlier years she was raised in New Haven, CT and graduated from Hill House High School, class of 1980. She reconnected with many of her classmates as she recently attended and celebrated her class reunion which was a great success. Brenda's adult years were spent living in Ansonia, Shelton and lastly in West Haven, CT. She was employed at Inline Plastic Company for many years before leaving in the early 2000's. She then worked caring for adults with Intellectual Disabilities until she had to medically retire. Brenda was truly a force to be reckoned with! Our "Independent Queen"... She came into this world on Cinco de Mayo, a day of celebration, commemorating a victory in battle. She then left this Earth with fireworks on the Fourth of July, Independence Day. The time between those profound entrance and exit dates were truly a celebration of life and love. She was the life of the party, always on the dance floor and the first one at the card table. She loved to play Poker, Spades and Pokeno. She loved to cook and feed everyone. It was a great way to keep the family united. She was the soul of our family and will be forever cherished as such. Brenda loved the Lord. She was always studying and spreading the gospel. Because of this we know she has transitioned from this world and has joined our Heavenly Father. She leaves behind memories to be embraced forever by her mother, Joan Daniels; her lifelong love, Charles Miller; two daughters Theresa Brockenberry and Alicia Miller; six grandchildren, Destiny Miller, Danielle Gordon, Cherish Miller, Nevaeh Bell, Mekhi Jones and Rashaun Rowell; one brother, Steven Daniels; three sisters, Darlene Edmonds, Stephanie Harvin and Robin Daniels; three cousins but more like sisters, Su Ellen Brown-Lancaster, Carla Brown and Tricia Johnson. She was predeceased by son, Charles Miller Junior; granddaughter, Alexia Morena; great-grandson, Nasir Lawson; sister/cousin, Bonnie Brown and brother/cousin, Elliot Brown.
