Bonnie Faison

Bonnie Jean Faison was born to Bertha Mae Barker (deceased) and James “Bopeep” Faison in Newark, New Jersey. She was a long time resident of the Fair Haven community where she completed high school at Wilbur Cross High. Bonnie held several jobs throughout her life, with the last employment being at The Omni Hotel where she had the honor to meet a few famous people, such as Whitney Houston. Bonnie prided herself on doing everything to the best of her ability and it showed in her work and in her life. Bonnie’s passion was always to provide unconditional love and comfort. She was always welcoming, loving and the life of the party. Her laughter and smile was hope and comfort to anyone she encountered. Bonnie accepted everyone that crossed her path and was willing and has gone above and beyond to help those in need. Bonnie was selfless. There have been numerous times where she was concerned more with the needs and wishes of others than with her own. Her desire was to make her family proud and to always feel loved and she succeeded. She was called to eternal peace on November 7, 2022. Bonnie leaves behind to mourn, cherish and celebrate her legacy; her father, James Faison; 2 sisters, Diane Barker and Theresa Faison; 4 children, Marquis Faison, Ebonese Bennerman, LaShawna Faison and Shante Faison; a son in a law, Leonardo Melendez Jr.; daughter in law, Tamika Daniels; grandchildren, Shaquille Daniels, Marquis Faison Jr., T’naja Thompson, Brycyn Thompson, Naevah Faison, Jewels Melendez, Nyro Lockhart, Leonardo Melendez III, Charlise Daniels, Ebony Daniels, Latifah Daniels; 5 great grandchildren; 3 nieces and 3 nephews, Brandon Faison, Scottie Clark, Kimberly Stevenson, Terrance Stevenson, Brittany Faison, Bree Faison; a first cousin, Denise Bryant; a life long best friend/sister Sonia Sanchez; along with a multitude of other relatives, cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and friends all whom she loved unconditionally. There are not enough words to describe the woman Bonnie was. She was a loyal friend and even more loyal to her family. She helped everyone who ever needed her and gave more second chances than she received. She was powerful and beautiful and everyone who knew her recognized it. She was fashionable and creative and an amazing cook. She was a legend and there will be no other like her. May God grant her the peace she well deserves and the love she sought and had while on earth. She will forever remain in our hearts and memories. She was a mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and a loyal and true friend. We love you, we will forever miss you and we will make you proud. Love you Bonnie Jean…..
