Aveus J. Bush

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Aveus Jarmaine Bush Sr. better known as “AV”. AV departed this life on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at Yale-New Haven Hospital. Aveus Jarmaine Bush Sr. (“AV”) was born on November 12, 1970 in New Haven, Connecticut, the second son of Carl and Thelma Bush. AV grew up in the Rock view Circle and Ashmun Street (“154”) family where he met many of his lifelong friends. He attended James Hillhouse High School as well as High School in the Community. Aveus was a “Jack of All Trades” never afraid of trying something new he allowed his love of life to take him to many different career paths. AV worked at Yale University, various car dealerships, detailing cars( one of his passions), house painting, and enjoyed handyman work. AV’s personality was LARGER than life with a mouth that matched – he was straight no chaser and spoke his mind to anyone that needed hear it. Everybody has an AV story that is crazy and out of pocket, that no one else would do but AV, which is what made him so special and one of the reasons we loved him. Aveus had a love of many things, one being basketball. Although his height wasn’t that of the average baller, you couldn’t tell that on the court as he was a force to be reckoned with and had a name in them streets. His love of music was known to make him belt out a rap or harmony of any song on a whim and his dancing game was also on point which made him always “eye catching”. Another one of AV’s favorite past times on any given day, rain, sleet, or shine was cooking and grilling out with a good steak with family and friends. Anyone who knew anything about AV knew what he cherished and loved the most…his family. AV married his longtime love, Renita Laureano in 2008 with whom he shared two beautiful and creative children, Aveus J. Bush Jr. and Alyssa J. Bush residing in Maryland and Florida for many years. Aveus adored his children and loved spending time with them no matter near or far. Whether they were, riding bikes, going to the park, playing the game, chilling watching TV, or even facetiming if he could see their faces, he was happy, and so were they. One of his kid’s fondest memories is of their daddy waking them up many nights with food under the noses to entice them to come down and grub, even if it was 2 A.M. AV relocated back to Connecticut where he enjoyed spending time with close friends and some family. Aveus leaves one son, Aveus J. Bush Jr, one daughter, Alyssa J. Bush and one granddaughter, Arriaya J. Bush, a brother, Andre Bush, two nephews, Andre Davis & Carl Bush, three nieces, Letia Sydnor, Aaliyah Bush & Andrea Bryant, one great aunt Pearl Smokes, three aunts, Mary Moran, Elaine Harris & Henrietta Salters and a favorite uncle, Charles Salters that was very special to him, a host of great aunts, uncles, cousins, as well as good friends. He was predeceased by his parents Carl & Thelma Bush, paternal grandmother, Gladys Bush, maternal grandparents, Jimmie & Theodore Salters, Sr.
