Evangelist Annie Lorraine Reynolds Hagwood was born on May 13,1939, in Patrick Springs, Virginia to the late Lillie Lois Reynolds and Richard Johnson Reynolds. Annie was family-oriented and showed unconditional love to everyone she encountered. She was the eldest sister of twelve siblings. Annie was married to Joseph Hardie Hagwood, as they had six children. She migrated to Connecticut with her family in 1969. Shortly after, she earned her high school diploma from James Hillhouse High School. Annie worked at Winchester Repeating Arms and Pratt & Whitney as a mechanical worker for many years. Her greatest and most rewarding job was becoming an ordained minister and later, an evangelist. She enjoyed spreading to the word of God. Annie was a minister at Pitts Chapel Unified Free Will Baptist Church in New Haven, CT under Bishop E. Davis. Annie was passionate for the church and God’s people. She was committed to picking up her grandchildren to attend church. To know Annie is to know strength, determination, and her unwavering faith. Annie would stop and give praise to the Lord at any given moment; from a hand clap, a song or simply shouting “HALLELUJAH!!!” Evangelist Annie Lorraine Reynolds Hagwood, 84, gained her heavenly wings on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at Yale New Haven Hospital. Left to embrace and cherish Annie’s loving memories are her six children Gloria Joyce of Bassett, VA. Crystal Hagwood, Chinita Hagwood Davis (Terry) of New Haven, CT. Karen Hagwood of Bassett, VA.; Maurice Hagwood of New Haven, CT., Charles Hagwood (Meosha) of East Haven, CT.; goddaughter Latisha Reynolds; godson Davonte Thompson; one brother John Reynolds (Leacy) of West Haven, CT.; two sisters Gracie Flood (Eddie) of Martinsville, VA. and Juanita Wright of Quinby, South Carolina. Her legacy will continue with her twenty grandchildren Shaquanna Hagwood, Garlyn Hagwood, Michale Smith, Shant'e Manuwa, Terri Davis, Nakia Mckinnie, Eudell Mckinnie III, Vashun Lewis Sr, Vershonda Lewis, Charles Dibenedetto (Brittany), Lashay Morgan, Shaneka Everson (Antwaun), Jamar Allen, Derrick Harris, Sherrell Allen, Maurice Russell, Darryl Russell, Brandon Hagwood, Marlon Hagwood, and Shatarra Myers, 28 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Annie is preceded in death by six brothers Benjamin Reynolds, Reverend William Reynolds, Joe Reynolds, Dennis Reynolds, Glenn Reynolds, and Melvin Reynolds; two sisters Barbara King, and Linda Edwards; two great grandchildren Vashun Lewis Jr. and Marcus Hodge Jr. The funeral service in celebration of Evangelist Annie Lorraine Reynolds Hagwood’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at Pitts Chapel Unified Free Will Church in New Haven, Connecticut. The calling hours are from 10:00 am - 11:00 am, prior to the service at the church
