Alton E. Wilkes 58, of New Haven passed away Jan. 5, 2009 at the Hospital of St. Raphaels. Born July 22, 1950 to the late Milford David Wilkes and Ida Mae Knight in Edgecomb, N.C. Loving husband of Alice Wilkes. Besides his wife Alice, Alton leaves to cherish 4 sons; Desmond Wilkes of N.C., Jameel "Biggie", and Cornell "CJ" both of New Haven and Alton Wilkes Jr. 2 brothers; James (Linda) Wilkes of Aberdeen, MD, and Juan Wilkes of Baltimore, MD, 8 grandchildren Dyshelle, Dante, Skylinn, Damar and Cornell Jr. all of New Havn, Kristina, Dailin and Desmond Jr. all of N.C. and a host of other relatives and friends. Alton was predeceased by a sister Barbara Wilbur and a brother Donald Wilkes. Funeral service will be held Mon. Jan 12, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Shekinah Glory Church 715 Dixwell Ave. New Haven. Calling hours from 9 a.m. until time of service. Interment in the V.A. Cemetery in Middletown, CT. Funeral service will be held on Friday January 9, 2009 at 7 p.m at McClam Funeral Home, 95 Dixwell Avenue, New Haven, CT. Calling hours will begin at 5 p.m. until time of service. Interment on Sat.
