Adv. Sr. Louise V. Bond-Bynum

Adv. Sr. Mother Louise Bynum, 87, of West Haven, CT was call from labor to reward on March 29, 2014 at the Connecticut Hospice in Branford, Connecticut. Adv. Sr. Mother Louise Vivian-Bond-Bynum was born on June 3, 1926 in Westgrove, Pennsylvania to the late Mr. James Bond Sr. and St. Harriett Brown-Bond. She was the widow of the late Presiding Elder Moses Bynum, Sr. She was a Missionary, Minister, and Church Mother for the Supreme Council of the House of Jacob of the U.S.A., Inc. for over sixty years. She held many positions in mission including Sunday School Teacher and Supervisor. She was also an Honorary Bible School Graduate. She worked as a Nurse’s Aide at Saint Raphael’s Hospital, in New Haven, CT and Pratt & Whitney, in North Haven, CT as an assembly worker. Later on she began working for the Head Start program. While working for Head Start she attended South Central Community College where she graduated with her Associates Degree. Adv. Sr. Mother Louise Bynum became a Paraprofessional for the New Haven Public Schools where she worked for many years until retirement. She was loved by all who knew her, she knew no strangers. To know her was to love her and every friend became family to her. Adv. Sr. Mother Bynum is survived by two sisters Mrs. Lillian Bond-Cain and Adv. Sr. Mother Anna Grace Bond-Bell, three daughters, Mother Phoebe Bynum-Austin(A.P.E. Josiah Austin), Eldress Edith Tolson (Mr. Darrell Tolson), St. Mary Bynum and three sons, Mr. Moses Bynum, Jr., Deacon Alvin Bynum and Mr. Philip Bynum. Fifteen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, two sisters in-law, Mrs. Doris Bond, Mrs. Constance Bond and a host of nieces, nephews, adopted children and other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her sisters, Sr. Mtr. Mary Bond-Walls (Presiding Eld. Clinton Walls), Mrs. Grace Salisbury-Clark (Richard Clark), brothers, Mr. James Bond, Jr. (Mrs. Rudy Bond), Mr. Raymond Bond (Mrs. Eva Bond), Mr. Norman Bond, and Mr. David Bond, two brothers-in-law Mr. Alfred Cain and Bishop Gabriel Bell. In lieu of flowers please send all donations in memory of Adv. Sr. Mother Louise Bynum to The Supreme Council of the House of Jacob Inc., Church Treasury to 48 Third St.,Hamden, CT 06514. Interment in Beaverdale Memorial Park.
